![]() It looks as though the widespread adoption of low-emission cars is having an effect. According to the Society of Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), average CO2 emissions have fallen by 13.6g/km since January 2008. The fall for fleet vehicles is a little lower at 11.5g/km, but it's still heading in the right direction. One of the reasons for the dramatic fall is the Government Scrappage Scheme which resulted in newer, lower emission cars being registered.
